Dear John—
This January 8th will mark the tenth anniversary of the day I was shot. It’s a difficult day for me to look back on, and I try not to think about it too often.
What I do like to reflect on are all of the people I’ve met over the past 10 years: the leaders who have inspired me, the survivors who have understood me, the young activists who have given me hope.
“Move ahead” is my mantra. It doesn’t mean ignoring the past, or pretending it didn’t happen. It means persevering despite of, and because of, what happened in the past. Next year, we’ll be moving ahead together.
I’m asking you to support this movement one last time in 2020—will you add your gift before the end of the year? [[link removed]]
The movement that I’ve dedicated my life to these past 10 years—our movement—wouldn’t be where it is today without your generosity and support.
Please chip in today to help us meet our year-end goals, so we’ll be in a better position to change laws and save lives in 2021. [[link removed]]
Thank you, happy new year, and as always: move ahead.
Warmly,
Gabby Giffords
