Mikie Sherrill :: U.S. Congress

I know you might have seen me in the news today, so I want to take a moment to touch base -- I took my first oath to serve my country when I entered the U.S. Naval Academy at 18 years old and I have taken numerous oaths since then, including this past January when I became a member of Congress.

I have sworn to protect our country from any and all threats, and those oaths guide everything I do in Congress.

The reports breaking this week that President Trump withheld critical military aid and pressured a foreign government to investigate a political rival are disturbing to say the least. If they are true, he has seriously violated our democratic process, gravely threatened our national security, and committed an impeachable offense.

That is why I am calling on Congress to use all of the tools at its disposal to get to the bottom of these allegations against the president.

I have not come to this conclusion lightly. The oaths I have sworn require me to make hard choices all of the time, but above all, it's my duty to do the right thing for my country.

It's time to stand up for our country. Join me in calling on Congress to use its power to determine if the allegations against President Trump are true.
