In a promising sign for coronavirus response, the first round of COVID-19 vaccines are being distributed to health care workers and essential employees nationwide.
This is huge, fellow progressive, and it took us a lot of hard work to get this far. But now, it’s important that we make sure that every American who wants a vaccine can get it — free of charge.
In the midst of a global pandemic, cost should not prohibit who can get the vaccine. No health insurance company, pharmacy or medical provider should be able to charge the uninsured or underinsured any type of fee before they get the vaccine.
