Today, on National Voter Registration Day, we celebrate one of the greatest things about our democracy: the fact that everyone has a say in our government.

Voting is one of the most important acts we do as citizens. But the truth is, far too many of us still face barriers to the ballot box.

Every year, millions of Americans are unable to vote because of voter suppression. From closing polling locations in inner cities, to requiring specific forms of identification, voter suppression threatens the very nature of our democracy.

The best way to combat voter suppression is by making sure you're registered to vote, knowing where your polling location is, and making a concrete plan to vote on Election Day.

That's why we're taking a quick poll of our supporters to ask a simple question: Do you plan to vote in the 2020 election?

Protecting the right to vote is one of the central issues to John's agenda.

That's why he supports the Voting Rights Advancement Act, which would require states with a history of violating voting rights to get approval from the Department of Justice before making any changes to election procedures or voting requirements.

He also supports common-sense initiatives like automatic voter registration and same-day registration, so more people have access to the ballot box.
