Dear John,

As we reach the end of this challenging year, I’m reflecting on what it has meant for OLCV and our work. 

Back in early March, right before we all went into lockdown, Governor Kate Brown signed one of the boldest climate action executive orders in the country. This was a big win, and the culmination of years of work by OLCV and our partners. 

Then, we transitioned to a “new normal” and began doing our work remotely from our homes. In this election year, we faced new and unpredictable challenges to our work mobilizing voters. But despite the challenges, a record number of Oregonians voted in this year’s primary and general elections, thanks to our vote-by-mail system, and we elected many new environmental champions to offices from local to statewide.

None of this would have been possible without you. 

If this year has taught us anything, it’s that you certainly can’t predict the future and none of us are sure what 2021 will bring, but we are excited to move forward. Soon, the Legislature will reconvene—and as always, we will be there everyday fighting for the issues that are important to us and holding our elected officials accountable.

We can’t do our work without you. Please consider making a year-end contribution to OLCV today. If you are eligible, you can use your Political Tax Credit to give $50 or $100 to the OLCV PAC and get it back at tax time. Or, you can make a tax-deductible donation to the OLCV Education Fund.

Despite all of the challenges of this year, we still accomplished a lot, and none of it would be possible without you. I’m so grateful for your support.
