As we’re about the ring in the new year, our end-of-year fundraising deadline is just a few hours away, and I wanted to take this opportunity to tell you why it’s so important.
When I first got to Congress, it was against all odds. I faced a powerful far-right incumbent, and everyone assumed he’d win again. I won an upset because we worked together and demonstrated there was a better way of doing things in Washington.
I’ve been living up to that promise ever since I got to Congress. I co-founded the Problem Solvers Caucus to help bridge the partisan divide, and worked to find common ground whenever possible. That’s the leadership that got us to a COVID-19 relief deal — and I couldn’t be prouder.
But there’s a side effect to my work: it angers the partisans who only care about their extreme agendas. They see me as a threat to the system, and they’re already planning to send opponents after me.
I know because they’ve done it before.
That’s where this $25,000 goal comes in. To defend this seat and keep it in the hands of a problem solver, we’ll need to be prepared for the new cycle as soon as possible. With $25K in the bank, we can say to the challengers:
bring it on.
We’re just $2,590 away, and time’s running out. Will you help us close the gap before the clock strikes midnight?
From my family to yours, thank you for all that you do and have a safe and healthy New Year!
Yours,
Josh
