2020 has been uniquely tough for all of us. Millions of lives across the globe have been touched by the coronavirus pandemic. At the same time, we faced a multitude of public interest challenges -- plastic pollution, exposure to toxins, and price gouging of critical medical supplies.
Throughout the year, we've swiftly and effectively responded to these challenges with professional research, strategic advocacy and grassroots organizing. To help us continue standing up for the public interest, generous donors are matching gifts until midnight tonight, up to $50,000 nationwide.
Double your impact by making a matched gift to U.S. PIRG by midnight tonight.

When you give to U.S. PIRG, you're fueling the hard work of a network with a 45-year record of success addressing some of our nation's most pressing issues. Here are some of the 2020 victories you've supported:
* Five states have now banned polystyrene foam containers, with New Jersey being the latest to join New York, Maine, Maryland and Vermont. These laws ending the use of polystyrene foam takeout containers help move our country beyond plastic and protect our planet from among the worst kinds of waste. With your support, we can make your state next.
* More states end the use of chlorpyrifos, a brain-damaging pesticide. In February this year, California banned the sale of chlorpyrifos and barred farmers from using it on crops.[1] One month later, Maryland became the latest state to enact a ban on chlorpyrifos to protect public health.[2]
* When consumers were getting ripped off on essential supplies at the start of the pandemic, hundreds of state legislators joined us to work for change. We successfully campaigned in three states -- California, Colorado and Massachusetts -- to pass new consumer protections to stop price gouging.
Despite a year of unprecedented challenges, we've accomplished a lot together. Help us build on this progress by making a matched gift to U.S. PIRG today.
