As we prepare to bid farewell to the old year and ring in the new, I’d like to thank you once more for the generous support that made PRI’s victories for freedom possible during this unlikely year.
In our home state of California, PRI's educational campaign against the economically crippling effects of AB 5 was rewarded, as voters in the November election chose to exempt app-based economy workers from the law that destroyed the freelance economy in California.
PRI also educated voters on the dangers of Prop. 15, a destructive commercial property tax scheme that would have devastated California’s already struggling economy. Faced with Prop. 16, a measure that would have brought back affirmative action in public hiring, college admissions, and contracting, PRI made the case for preserving equal opportunities for all Californians. Voters ultimately rejected both measures.
These election results are proof positive of that given a clear message of freedom—against the prevailing lies of the leftwing media and politicians— Californians chose liberty and smaller government.
And if that message can win in deep blue California, it can win anywhere.
With the world in upheaval and big government’s harsh and inconsistent response to the COVID-19 pandemic crippling business and families around the country, we are faced with a tremendous opportunity to go on the offensive for freedom. And it is crucial that we do.
