John,
What a year this has been.
Like all of you, I’m looking forward to a new year and the possibilities and hope that 2021 will bring.
This year has been one of the most challenging in memory. For too many, they’ve lost their jobs, their businesses, or a loved one to the pandemic. Our country has faced enormous struggles this year and a reckoning on the issues of racial justice. And while there have been many moments that feed the divide in our country, I am confident that our collective future is bright.
Next year, with a new Congress and a new Administration, I know that we’ll be able to bring positive change to this country; change that includes lowering the cost of healthcare, increasing access to broadband internet in communities that need it, and expanding opportunity to Americans that are struggling, regardless of their zip code, their wealth, or their race.
Next year, most Americans will receive the vaccine and our economy will continue to recover. And while the challenges laid bare this year will not be solved overnight, I know that together we’ll make 2021 a year of improvement towards a greater future.
John, with your help and the support of so many families across Central Virginia, I won my campaign in November. With that victory comes the responsibility and opportunity to continue to serve the people of Central Virginia. I am grateful for your support and sincerely looking forward to next year.
