Responding to a question about the nature of our new government, Ben Franklin famously said: "A republic, if you can keep it."

This past year has given those words new relevance and urgency. To keep this democratic government we need to commit to sustained engagement like never before.

We cannot afford to slow down. We need to start the year strong and keep pushing hard to bend toward greater justice, opportunity and equality for all; no matter race, religion, sexual orientation, or economic circumstance.

As we turn the page on 2020 and look ahead, I need you with me in this fight so that together we can reach our goals for this country and the future of our children.

Will you pitch in $5 or whatever you can before midnight tonight to help us reach our final fundraising goal of the year and start 2021 in the strongest position possible?

I want to thank you for your engagement and activism in 2020. Defeating Donald Trump and defending our democracy was a critical -- and necessary -- victory. Now we need to work to organize a relentless campaign for real and meaningful change.

Wishing you and your family a healthy, happy new year.

Chris
