Friend -- the new year is fast approaching, and I can't help but reflect back on 2020.

The Trump era has brought so much harm and destruction that will need to be addressed. One major area of concern is the undermining and elimination of many of our nation's bedrock environmental rules and regulations. During this
administration, over 100 rules that protected our environment have been weakened or eliminated.

But in 2020, despite the immense challenges this year has brought, we had a few big wins for our planet:

We fully and permanently funded the Land and Water Conservation Fund (LWCF). This bipartisan legislation ensures that wildlife refuges, historical landmarks, forests, waterways, and urban parks and ballfields in every state will forever get two to three times the amount of funding they have historically received, all at no cost to the taxpayer.

Thanks to years of hard work and advocacy from so many people like you, we blocked the Pebble Mine permit and stopped one of the most environmentally
destructive and ill-conceived projects in its tracks, ensuring continued protection of the largest salmon runs on the planet.

The COVID stimulus and government funding bill passed at the end of this year included some of the biggest advancements to the nation's energy policies in over a decade. I am proud that two bills I authored to modernize our electricity grid and make our buildings more energy efficient were included in this legislation, along with many other measures that will accelerate our transition to a clean energy future.

That's the kind of progress Americans deserve. The kind of progress I fight for every day in the Senate.

Will you stand with me? Chip in before midnight tonight to help us meet our end-of-year goal and fund the fight to protect our planet!
