Dear John
My name is Nicole Marie Vallestero Keenan and I raise money to support our work. I do most of my work behind the scenes, but I wanted to take a moment to share why I do what I do everyday, I get to support some of the most brilliant dreamers, collaborators and thinkers by securing funding for grassroots leadership building, environmental justice policy, affordable housing movements, and protections for essential workers.
The Partnership is more than just a national network, but is a group of people across the country who are committed to living in the world as we hope to see it. We are one of the few national network organizations that commits a majority of our resources and funding to grassroots organizations while also running our own coalitions and campaigns to bring the solutions our affiliates build at the local level to the national stage.
I joined the Partnership team after being the Executive Director of our Seattle based affiliate, Puget Sound Sage, because time and time again, the Partnership provided me and my team with support, community, and technical assistance when we needed it most. The Partnership has found a way to navigate growing as an organization that is leaderful, caring, savvy, strategic and follows the lead of our grassroots affiliates.
When COVID-19 began, we pivoted as a network to support our affiliates across the country in sharing and developing protocols, programs, and policy demands [[link removed]] to protect the health and safety of our teams while also passing vital protections for essential workers and tenants in cities across the country. And we also raised dollars for our affiliates to move authentic voter engagement programs in Pennsylvania, Wisconsin, Georgia and Arizona.
Our work in 2020 wouldn’t have been possible without sustained support from donors like you. As the year comes towards a close, asking you to make a meaningful contribution to our collective work to protect our health, our environment, our communities and each other.
