[ [link removed] ]Time is running out. Check the email below and don’t miss this final

John —

Let’s talk about potential. America isn’t making the most of its potential — and neither are the people trying to make it better.

Technology, automation, and the climate crisis are changing the way we live and work. But instead of seizing the moment, we have too much genius locked up behind bars and not enough in the high-tech jobs of the future.

Change-makers aren’t living up to our potential, either. A whole lot of awesome people spend too much time lobbing insults instead of seeking enough common ground to get stuff done. Meanwhile, Black and Brown people are being left behind — and so are low-income white folks.

But you have potential, too. You have the potential to double down on a tougher, more soulful strategy that starts with people who are hurting first and worst, but doesn’t leave anyone behind. You can help fill 2021 with a little less chaos and mess and a lot more community and progress.

There are less than 48 hours left to make your year-end, tax-deductible gift to Dream Corps. Please consider donating now.

One of us founded Dream Corps, and the other leads it today. Both of us believe in the power of Dream Corps’ way of making change. We start with people who are hurting. We work to identify common pain, and turn it into common purpose.

This kind of change-making doesn’t require you to hate anybody, and it doesn’t make the divides in America even worse. Oh, and it works: just ask the more than 14,000 people celebrating the holidays at home with their families instead of behind bars because of what Dream Corps did to pass the First Step Act.

Now we are counting on your help to do even more in 2021:[link removed]

More common ground between unlikely allies for climate action, in order to create good clean-economy jobs and wealth for hurting communities.

More high-tech job-training cohorts for Black and Brown future coders, like the one in Minneapolis that put Jacoby Dubose and his fellow alumni in full-time tech industry roles.
More people — like Tenesha Bannister and the 14,000+ men and women freed under the First Step Act — home from behind bars and provided the resources and training needed to become leaders in their communities.

More community instead of more chaos — finding ways to work together without abandoning our values or our people, and leading with empathy and solutions instead of attacks.
That’s what’s on the table right now. We know it is possible because we’ve created change together before. Now, we are hoping we can count on you again.

America has always been two things: an ugly founding reality, and a beautiful founding dream. That dream still has the power to inspire and drive us forward. Let’s keep chasing that dream, together.

Sincerely,
