Over the past few weeks, you’ve seen highlights of our work in 2020:

  • Bringing social justice and human rights to the forefront of decision-making about human genetic technologies.
  • Pushing back against power imbalances, profit motives, and health risks in the global fertility industry.
  • Calling out eugenic legacies, practices, and thinking, and the dangerous eugenic potential of new human genetic technologies.

As we finally turn the page on this difficult year, we’re more eager than ever to get to work.
We know that techno-enthusiasts will continue to advocate for altering the genes and traits of future generations; that the fertility industry will continue to push boundaries with risky procedures; that eugenic legacies will persist and resistance to them will grow.

CGS will keep fighting to avert a new techno-eugenics and ensure that human genetic and reproductive technologies serve the common good. As we consider what we can accomplish in the coming year, we’re relying on you and your commitment to genetic justice.
