We are $2,391 away from our goal and need your help to close out this decade in a good way!  Help us celebrate our top 12 wins of the past 10 years!

Let’s close the decade right, by giving back where it matters. Below is a snippet of what we’ve accomplished partnering with Indigenous Peoples across the world.

Our top 12 achievements include:

1. We granted nearly $2 million dollars in the past 4 years to Indigenous communities to support an array of self-determined development projects through our Indigenous Led Funds.

2. We partnered with Indigenous Peoples to protect and defend their lands and territories from land grabbing, oil drilling, toxic dumping, heavy metal mining, and pipelines that desecrate sacred lands and endanger Indigenous communities.

3. We generated over $4.7 million dollars in income for Indigenous artists through sales at the Cultural Survival Bazaars to support their economic sovereignty and livelihoods.

4. We filed legal suit against the Guatemalan government with the Inter-American Commission on Human Rights for the discrimination against Indigenous Peoples in telecommunications laws, violating their right to freedom of expression.

5. We launched the Indigenous Rights Radio Program, engaging over 11 million listeners in 150 languages

6. We provided capacity building and training in radio production, journalism, and leadership skills to over 186 Indigenous women over the past five years.

7. We supported 33 Indigenous youth fellows in 10 countries through our Indigenous Community Media Youth Fellowship program (since 2018).

8. We informed 17.2 million people about Indigenous issues via 44 editions of our award-winning Cultural Survival Quarterly magazine and website.

9. We amplified and raised the visibility of Indigenous rights violations in 54 countries by submitting 95 reports to the United Nations.

10. We inaugurated the leadership of our second Indigenous Executive Director, Galina Angarova (Buryat) and built a majority Indigenous women organization, with 26 staff based in 10 countries.

11. We mounted a robust COVID-19 Awareness Campaign in 130+ Indigenous languages including 420+ radio programsprevention manuals for radio stations in 86 Indigenous languages, and administered emergency grants to 31 communities in 16 countries.

12. We are shifting consciousness within philanthropy by speaking truth to power in our recent Indigenizing Philanthropy Series

We are just $2,391 away from reaching our goal! EVERY gift counts, small and large, and we ask you again for your support to help us to work towards a future that respects and honors Indigenous Peoples inherent rights and dynamic cultures, deeply and richly interwoven in lands, languages, spiritual traditions, and artistic expression, rooted in self-determination and self-governance.

We are so grateful to walk this journey together with you and we are deeply honored for your partnership, generosity, and support!

From everyone here at Cultural Survival, we wish you and your loved ones good health, peace, joy, justice, and abundance in 2021 and in the next decade ahead!
