How we served you in 2020

Dear John,

This year, a deadly new virus brought unimaginable pain and loss to Northeastern Pennsylvania and our nation. It impacted all of our lives in one way or another, and my heart is with all of you.

Throughout the year, you continued to turn to me and my team for assistance in navigating federal agencies, as well as the many federal relief programs that Congress created throughout this year to help American individuals, families and businesses during this unprecedented crisis. I will be the first to say that these lifelines were not without their flaws -- and I am committed to continuing my work to improve upon them and make sure they continue until we see better days. At the same time, I am humbled by the trust many of you placed in us to help you get the assistance you needed.

As we close out this year and look ahead to what we all hope will be a better one, I want to remind you of some of the ways my office can be of assistance to you, and how we have worked to improve the lives of everyone who calls Northeastern Pennsylvania home during the 116th Congress.

Since January 2019, my office has:

Brought back $221,018,574 to the Eighth District

Responded to 97,133 constituent e-mails & letters

Helped 1,207 constituents with federal agency issues

Answered over 12,600 COVID-19 hotline calls since we opened it in March

My first responsibility as your representative is to listen to you -- and fight for you in Washington. I have never lost sight of that.

Final Thoughts

My team and I have been able to help thousands of Northeastern Pennsylvanians throughout this difficult year, but I know that there are still thousands more who are going through hard times.

In 2021, I resolve to do everything I can to make sure we come back stronger than before by fighting for more economic relief for those who are struggling, connecting local leaders with more federal investment opportunities, and attracting more and better jobs to this area. Despite the hardship we have endured this year, I have never lost hope that better days are ahead because the defining feature of the American spirit is the grit and determination to rise to any challenge. Together, we will do it.
