I wrote in my recent messages that your $20 donation will only cost you $5 when the tax credit is accounted for.
That’s true – if you pay taxes of course.
Since this is a non-refundable tax credit, you can benefit from it only if you pay taxes to the federal government.
As some donors have reminded me, they pay the full cost of their donations because their incomes are below taxable levels.
They may be students, retirees, or have a modest income for whatever reason.
These donors deserve a special thanks from me and the whole PPC family for their generosity.
Which is another reason for all those who benefit from the tax credit to be even more generous, don’t you think John?
