Dear John,
How is it possible that in the United States, children are going hungry in numbers not seen since the Great Recession?
And how is it possible that politicians in Washington seem to have prioritized partisan brinkmanship over helping the millions of families in crisis?
You and I are keys to the lifeline that is getting food to the kids who need it most. That’s why I am asking you — urging you — to use the last few hours of this painful year to make a difference!
|
This
is your chance to help kids today and in the year to come.
|
John, the truth is the surge in coronavirus infections has brought with it a surge in childhood hunger.
But we haven’t given up hope, and you shouldn’t either! Your compassionate gift will help hungry kids get the food they need by:
- Sustaining the support lifeline for school districts and community groups across the country who have taken on the heroic task of getting meals to kids wherever they may be; and
- Helping us keep up the pressure on lawmakers to fund emergency aid for stricken families. Elected officials in Washington have dropped the ball when it comes to caring for the unprecedented number of children
and families.
There is still more than enough food in this country to feed everyone. But the work of getting the food to the kids and families who need it most has never been more challenging. And your continued support has never
mattered more.
From the bottom of my heart, thank you for all you do to end childhood hunger in America. And thank you in advance for your generous support.
May you and yours have a happy and healthy New Year.
