Dear John,

The LAST DAY OF 2020! Can you believe it?

I promise to keep this brief because I’m sure you’ve been flooded with emails
asking you for an end-of-year donation. But I hope you read this email, because
CCAN is fighting to prevent catastrophic floods — the non-metaphorical kind —
from harming the community where you live.

We’re 75% towards our goal of raising $90,000 this month and a generous donor
pledged a $10,000 match for TODAY only!

Help us trigger a $10,000 match as 2020 counts down. Make your tax deductible
donation now. With your help, we’ll make climate solutions a TOP priority in
2021.

Our strategy works: Local grassroots activism in our nation’s capital can put
our entire country on a path to sustainability. The movement is stronger than
ever, but stakes have never been higher. And at CCAN, we will continue to work
tirelessly for climate solutions as we enter this new era.

We are so thankful for the generous donor who is offering to double your gift
today, and we hope you’ll take advantage of this opportunity!

The climate crisis will impact all of us. For more information on why you should
give, check out the email I sent a couple weeks ago, forwarded below. I have a
good feeling about 2021. I hope you do, too.

Happy New Year,

Mike Tidwell

Dear John,

End the year right. Make a gift to CCAN:

So there was this country, the United States, and by 2020 people said we were
finished. They said we could never come together again in a bi-partisan way, to
achieve something BIG, when the stakes were really high. Honestly, I was one of
those people some days, looking out my home-office window during a depressing
pandemic.

But here’s what gives me hope this holiday season: We did it anyway. This fall,
in every precinct in America, Democrats and Republicans came together to conduct
and certify the largest, most orderly, most high-stakes election in our history.
And soon we will have a new president and big, new climate policies.

At
[[link removed]] CCAN, we fight for clean energy for Maryland, Virginia, DC, and across the
country. Will you help us hit our goal of raising $90,000 this month so we can
make climate a top priority in 2021?

On day one, Joe Biden will rejoin the Paris Climate Agreement. He will start
rebuilding the US EPA and use executive orders to stop drilling on federal
lands. But he won’t be able to solve the climate crisis alone. This is where
CCAN, DC, and YOU come into play.

Here’s what we’ll do in 2021 with your support:

On Capitol Hill we’ll work with the White House to insist on the strongest possible executive actions to slash greenhouse
gases. And in DC we’ll make sure the local government stays on course for 100% clean electricity
by 2032.

If you’re like me, you approach the holidays wanting to give more than you
receive. I am a lucky man. My family is healthy, I have a job I love, and there
is food in the cupboard. If you are similarly fortunate, and have that shared
sense of wanting to solve our great climate crisis, please give generously to
CCAN.

Every little bit helps.

for us to continue this work.

Our nation just proved we can do big things, together, when the stakes are high.
Donate to CCAN today and let’s get started on this new chapter of American
history.

Sincerely,

Mike Tidwell
Executive Director
Chesapeake Climate Action Network & CCAN Action Fund

CCAN is building a people-powered movement for bold and just solutions to
climate change in the Chesapeake region of Maryland, Virginia, and Washington,
DC. We also act as "first-responders" to federal action on the climate crisis
and inspire climate action across the country.
