John, will you spend the last moments of 2020 helping others?

John: On this last day of the year, I hope you'll consider making a gift to help us reach more refugee moms and babies, and others in need worldwide. If you donate before midnight — taking advantage of our exclusive New Year's Eve 3X match — your tax-deductible gift will be tripled. Thank you for making stories like this one possible...

Baby Enqath was born in a displacement camp in Yemen, the country facing the world's worst humanitarian crisis. Four in five children (around 12.3 million total) are in need of humanitarian aid.

Enqath's mother, Bodor, remembers her anxiety as the contractions started — praying she would give birth safely. Like many women in Yemen, Bodor could not afford treatment at a hospital — or the transportation to get to a functioning facility.

"The IRC team came here and helped me," she says. "They gave me injections and IV infusions that helped me give birth. I gave birth in this tent."

Getting proper care enabled Bodor to regain her strength. She has since fully recovered — and just as important, her daughter arrived safely.

Bodor, holding her new baby girl in her arms, told our teams, "We called the baby Enqath, which means 'Rescue' in Arabic, after the organization's name — because it rescued us."

It's thanks to compassionate people like you, John, that we can provide refugees and displaced families with the support they need to survive, recover and rebuild their lives. I hope you can make a special New Year's Eve gift right now — and triple your impact.

Your gift can help 3X the refugee moms and babies, and families in crisis zones worldwide. For example, your gift can help us provide health care and baby kits filled with diapers, soap, blankets, hats and other necessities.

In places like Yemen and Syria, moms are giving birth amidst ongoing conflict and the global pandemic.

And in some places where we work, the cold winter weather has arrived. Our baby kits also provide refugee moms with blankets and other supplies needed to protect their newborns and keep them warm.

When she gets older, Enqath will learn she was given her name in honor of the International Rescue Committee. Because of our team — and our work together, John — this mom and so many others are able to safely bring their babies into the world.

Your compassion and acts of kindness are never forgotten. The impact lives on through the lives you've changed.

Will you spend the last moments of 2020 helping others? All gifts made by midnight will have 3X the impact.
