2019 ASAN Annual Gala Wednesday November 13, 2019 Washington Marriott at Metro Center Join us for our annual celebration and fundraising event at the Marriott Metro Center in Washington, DC. Dinner and dessert will be served and a reception will precede dinner. Proceeds will support our advocacy work and programs for the coming year, and allow us to continue working to empower disabled people across the country.
We’re happy to announce Alice Wong as our keynote speaker this year! Alice Wong is a disabled activist, podcaster, and consultant based in San Francisco. She is the Founder and Director of the Disability Visibility Project, an online community dedicated to creating, sharing, and amplifying disability media and culture. With Gregg Beratan and Andrew Pulrang, Alice is a co-partner in #CripTheVote, an online nonpartisan movement which promotes civic engagement for people with disabilities, including increasing voter turnout. Alice is also the editor of two anthologies by disabled people: Resistance and Hope, published last year, and the upcoming Disability Visibility, coming out summer 2020. We look forward to hearing from Alice at our annual gala and hope that you can come celebrate with us!
More honorees and speakers will be announced in the coming weeks.
