As we near the end of Immigration Equality’s 25th year of service to queer, trans, and HIV-positive immigrants, I’m struck by the critical role our supporters played in all of our successes. 

Together, we secured asylum for over 1,200 people. 
Together, we freed all of our HIV-positive clients during COVID-19. 
Together, we won recognition in courts nationwide that children of same-sex couples are U.S. citizens from birth.

After a quarter-century of service, we still have work to do.  

We just sued the Trump administration to stop a rule that would eviscerate the asylum system, and only 13 days remain until the rule goes into effect. If it does, the lives of queer asylum seekers like Omar will be lost.
