No words can fully describe 2020, the year that introduced us all to murder hornets but also reminded many just how amazing doctors, nurses, and other health professionals are.
Just like you and me, COVID-19 has kept many of our medical teams on their toes, always weighing the greatest needs that day—which is why it’s so important for our teams to be flexible and prepared to respond at a moment’s notice.
In addition to caring for patients, Doctors Without Borders is preparing health facilities and systems around the world so they’re better equipped to handle the months ahead: reorganizing triage and waiting areas; strengthening and providing training on infection prevention and control (IPC) measures; and advising health workers and government officials alike.
We do this because it is vital to controlling the spread of COVID-19. We do this because lives are at stake.
