Friend,

Last Friday, more than 4 million young people across our country – and across the globe – took to the streets to call for action confronting climate change.

This is an existential crisis. Nearly daily there is new evidence from scientists that time is running out to confront the catastrophic threats that climate change poses.

Yet the Trump administration hasn't just forfeited the leadership role of the United States – instead, he's leading the retreat. Withdrawing from the historic Paris Agreement was only the first embarrassing step. Next came overturning long-standing regulations to protect our air, water, and lands. And now Trump is waging a war of personal pique against the state of California that is neither wanted nor welcomed by the auto industry.

That's why the activism of this new generation of climate leaders is so important. We need to listen to these inspiring young leaders and step up alongside them to demand climate action. I'm standing with them to support climate action, and I'm counting on 5,000 more people to join me before midnight tonight:

Please, add your name now to tell the Trump administration: Take action on catastrophic climate change!

As a baby boomer myself, I know firsthand what is possible when young people rise up and speak out for change. It's time for my colleagues in Congress, this President, and the members of his administration to either lead on the issue of climate change or get out of the way.

There is no planet B. It couldn't be more critical to do everything we can right now to confront our climate crisis, commit to clean energy, and protect our natural world. I need to know you're with me on this: Will you stand with me and the young people fighting for their future by signing my petition now?

Click here to demand the Trump administration finally tackle the devastating effects of climate change and commit to plans for a greener future.
