I know this has been a difficult year. Battling a global pandemic in the midst of constant threats ranging from climate change denial to tearing down environmental protections — all of which affects our most vulnerable marginalized communities above all else.
The Trump Administration is still up to its mischief until it leaves office on January 20:
The Trump administration is still trying to lease public lands to the highest bidder.
Trump continues to treat the climate crisis as some kind of hoax, ignoring the destruction and suffering it is already causing to people around the world.
Trump's cronies at the Bureau of Land Management and the US Fish and Wildlife Service are trying again to open the Arctic National Wildlife Refuge to oil and gas seismic testing — and he's asked the oil industry to choose where they wanted to lease for oil drilling on the Arctic National Wildlife Refuge’s coastal plain.
I did want to highlight a ray of hope for these last two days of 2020:
You can support our work with THREE TIMES the power. A group of generous donors will TRIPLE MATCH every gift you make, $2-for-$1 — but only until MIDNIGHT TOMORROW.
Here's why your support matters—with the help of supporters like you, we've achieved important victories this year:
1
We overcame partisan divides to pass the Great American Outdoors Act.
2
We headed off Endangered Species Act delisting of grizzly bears in the Yellowstone region.
3
We continued to retire dirty coal-fired power plants.
4
We beat the Trump administration in court 88 percent of the time — including the fight we just won against the Department of Interior when they wanted to allow bear baiting in the 1.92-million-acre Kenai National Wildlife Refuge.
And so many more successes protecting people and places across the country.
