John -- Although 2020 was a difficult and tumultuous year, we should be proud of everything we’ve gained.

When Americans marched in the streets demanding justice for George Floyd and Breonna Taylor, we elected a Black Lives Matter activist in Congresswoman-elect Cori Bush. 

When educators were faced with unprecedented uncertainty amidst the pandemic and students were essentially left to fend for themselves and their education, we elected a progressive educator and school principal in Congressman-elect Jamaal Bowman. 

And while frontline workers maintained the backbone of our economy, putting themselves at risk, we re-elected working class champion and former waitress, Congresswoman Alexandria-Ocasio Cortez. 

Brand New Congress proudly stood with a slate of incredible candidates who bravely ran grassroots, progressive campaigns. From New York to West Virginia, Texas and Missouri, we challenged the status-quo and backed candidates who dared to run against some of the most entrenched members of Congress.

The results were a mixed bag. Our nation narrowly defeated Trumpism, but the fight for REAL progress is far from over. Brand New Congress is fully committed to staying in the fight as this is only the beginning. We need you with us. 

In just a few weeks, we will be rolling out our candidate nomination process. We anticipate thousands of nominations for our 2022 slate. Brand New Congress candidates will be dedicated to holding the Biden administration accountable and continuing the fight for progressive reforms.

Taking on the system and electing progressives means we must start early. This is why our team is working hard to build out the organizational infrastructure we’ll need for the 2022 midterm elections.
