John,
As a supporter of the Animal Legal Defense Fund, you have been part of many victories that have helped to win justice for innocent animals.
Animals like Angel, pictured above with her best friend Maggie, who now lives at the Center for Great Apes — a sanctuary that spans more than 100 acres in Wauchula, Florida.
Or animals like Twiggy and Big Boy, two endangered grey wolves that you helped to rescue from Fur-Ever Wild roadside zoo. Or Sandy and Shawn, two brown bears who were being held in cruel conditions at Animaland Zoological Park. Or Gracie, Edgar, and Steve, three dogs (from over 300) rescued from hoarders in North Carolina.
The list goes on and on. And your support has been a major part of it.
John, that’s why I’m asking you to please make your tax-deductible year-end donation to be matched, dollar-for-dollar, up to $130,000 today. Your lifesaving gift right now will help us continue to fight for innocent animals and make sure that we can bring abusers to justice.
It’s why we are fighting right now to help end the sale and transfer of all animals on Craigslist. Animals like Winnie…
Winnie never weighed more than one pound. Southern California puppy traffickers, the Kenneys, sold the pup to a newlywed couple who responded to an ad on Craigslist for a mini labradoodle. The Kenneys advertised that Winnie was 8-weeks-old and fully vaccinated. But the couple soon learned how far puppy traffickers will go to turn a profit.
Winnie was only 4-weeks-old, had been dyed reddish-brown with hair dye, and had not been properly vaccinated. Winnie died just weeks after the couple brought her home — from a disease she contracted because she never got the vaccines the Kenneys said they gave her. This was not the first time a puppy suffered and died because of the greed of unscrupulous people like the Kenneys taking advantage of Craigslist’s policy loopholes.
Unscrupulous breeders, puppy- and kitten-mill operators, and animal brokers are exploiting the platform to sell critically ill animals as well as to dupe families into paying for animals they never receive.
With so much at stake for animals across the country, will you step up and help us reach our year-end goal of raising $300,000 to help shut down the sale and exploitation of animals?
Help from supporters like you will ensure that we can protect animals and save lives like Winnie’s before it’s too late. Your contribution, doubled in value, means we can work to end these loopholes on Craigslist and make sure no animal is trafficked on this platform.
With you by our side, we will continue to save innocent lives and keep fighting until no animal abuser is allowed to get away with cruelty. |
For the animals,
