Friend,
When COVID-19 caught the world off guard, Doctors Without Borders was able to respond quickly because of our careful planning and independent funding, made possible by generous donations from our supporters.
In any given year, donations pay for millions of consultations, operations, treatments, and vaccinations. In 2020, they helped us scale up our programs to respond to COVID-19, care for patients, train health workers in vital infection control measures, and launch temporary projects in outbreak hotspots, including in multiple locations here at home. And in 2021, donations will ensure our teams can adapt as conditions change and medical needs evolve.
As the world grapples with the distribution of COVID-19 vaccines, our teams remain concerned about ensuring equitable access to these vaccines as well as other COVID-19 treatments and diagnostics. We will continue to advocate for access to COVID-19 vaccines and treatments, all while ensuring we continue to respond to critical areas of work that have fallen from headlines: HIV/AIDS, malaria, Ebola, tuberculosis, and so much more.
This email was sent from the U.S. section of Doctors Without Borders/Médecins Sans Frontières (MSF), an international independent medical humanitarian organization that delivers emergency aid to people affected by armed conflict, epidemics, natural and man-made disasters, and exclusion from health care.
