Today is our favorite holiday, National Voter Registration Day, the largest single day effort to register voters in the country!

National Voter Registration Day (NVRD) has a special place in our organizing hearts because the Alliance co-founded this holiday in 2012! What started as an idea from young organizers grew into a major holiday garnering support and participation from influencers, elected officials, and nonprofits alike.

Organizations in the Alliance network register young voters every single day, every single year. But on NVRD, they are joined by thousands of partners to amplify this work and bring more people into the fold of our democracy.

And for the second year in a row, we are supporting over 500 college campuses registering students to vote as part of our NVRD Campus Takeover. We even granted $50,000 in mini-grants to campus organizations, so students can throw the best events possible on their campuses! To see this work in action, follow us on social media (Facebook, Twitter, and Instagram) and at #NationalVoterRegistrationDay. We will also be uplifting in real-time Alliance organizations registering thousands, and, yes, we mean thousands, of voters on and off-campus today.
