Hi, John — I’m reaching out with good news and bad news about Brady’s $100,000 end-of-year match goal. First, the bad news: Brady is still $31,348 short of their final fundraising goal of the year.

But I have a thrilling update: Brady's group of generous major donors sponsoring the match just UPPED the ante and will TRIPLE every donation — dollar for dollar — but only until midnight tomorrow!

As a gun violence survivor and gun violence prevention advocate, I’m asking you to make a donation of any amount to triple your impact, because Brady’s work in the coming year is imperative to making sure we can seize this moment to prevent future gun violence and save lives.

I lost my daughter Jaime during the 2018 Parkland massacre at Marjory Stoneman Douglas High School. Since that horrific day, I’ve dedicated my life to making sure no parent or family ever has to carry the loss that I do. That’s why I’m fighting with Brady, and why I’m coming directly to you to ask if you'll help them make critical change toward ending America's gun violence epidemic:

Will you give $5, $25 — anything you can spare — to make sure Brady has the resources to take action by suing gun manufacturers in court, passing universal background checks and an assault weapons ban, and defeating the bloody NRA inaction machine once and for all?

I won’t ever get to hold Jaime in my arms and tell her I love her again. And, John, it’s hard to put into words what that feels like. But that’s why I can’t ever sit still — I know that since Parkland, over 3,000 children like Jaime have died from gun violence, which means more than 3,000 families have experienced the pain of having a child killed. It's unforgivable.

But for the first time in a long time, I have a lot of hope — hope that we can actually take action to overcome Mitch McConnell and the NRA’s shameful inaction. Joe Biden is going to have a busy administration, but I know Brady will do everything they can to make certain Biden prioritizes life-saving action to prevent gun violence and save lives.

I know that because Brady is a gun violence prevention group run by gun violence survivors — advocates who know firsthand the weight millions of Americans carry because of this senseless violence and exactly how to stop it.

So, that’s why I’m turning to you with this huge opportunity to help Brady close this budget gap before their biggest and most important fundraising deadline of the year: Every dollar you can give right now to be triple-matched could be the dollar that finally begins the end of America's gun violence epidemic. So, please, John, will you give $5 or more now and triple your impact to sue gun manufacturers in court, defeat the NRA, and pass life-saving gun reform?

Each of us can power this movement to end our gun violence epidemic, but if we're going to finally overcome the gun lobby, we need you fighting with us. I hope you’ll join us and make a donation to this fight today.

Thank you.

Fred Guttenberg
