Once again, Louie Gohmert has embarrassed East Texas and all the good people who call it home with another one of his trademarked harebrained schemes.

If you haven’t heard by now, Louie Gohmert filed a lawsuit this week demanding that Vice President Mike Pence reject certain electoral college votes — the ones that Joe Biden won — and declare Donald Trump the winner of the 2020 election.

None of us should be surprised by Gohmert’s lawsuit idiocy, But most of his antics are not seditious attempts to thwart the will of the American people and overturn the results of a free and fair election.

Gohmert’s lawsuit seeks to transform Pence’s ceremonial role as Vice President into one with the power to unilaterally decide the result of a Presidential election. And this only proves one thing: Gohmert no longer possesses the moral, intellectual, or mental fitness to hold office or to hold a law license.

I am coming to you, hat in hand, with a humble request. I am not done fighting for the people of East Texas. We may have kicked Trump out of office, but the leeches and loons who enable him aren’t going anywhere.
