Overview
Are you looking for ways to fill your digital youth work projects with good stories? We have the training for you! Three workshops each taking a different approach to ways you can work with young people to develop their ideas into good stories for film, animation, gaming and lego projects etc and expand your digital project to encompass drama, visual art or model making in the process!
This full day training from The National Youth Arts and STEAM in Youth Work Programmes at NYCI will allow you to choose 2 workshops from a choice of 3 (1 in the morning and 1 in the afternoon) that will equip you with the skills to develop stories with young people that have a beginning, a middle and an end, interesting characters which you can then film, animate, or record as you please!
This training will draw from best practice in visual art, youth drama and digital youth work to equip youth workers and project leaders develop creative content for their digital projects with young people. These techniques will support young people to build communication, team work and creative thinking and problem solving skills as they work together to develop a story and figure out how to tell it!
Led by experts in specialised youth work and full of practical advice and activities, the training will focus on youth-centred approaches and practical skills to help you get that digital project over the line!
Each workshop will run twice. You can choose 2 of the 3 workshops to take (1 in the morning and 1 in the afternoon).
*And no, you don’t need to be a tech expert, just be reasonably confident in using cameras etc with young people and have an openness to learning new ways of working. This training will focus on the content for tech/digital projects and not on the tech processes themselves.
