Whether you call it Summer Meeting or Leadership Conference, our annual gathering of leaders for LGBTQ equality is the only national conference focused on state-level advocacy in the LGBTQ community. This is important because we know that real change happens in the communities we call home.

What started as a small meeting of state-based leaders is now the premier annual gathering of over 200 state-based and national leaders for LGBTQ equality. Without a doubt, our Leadership Conference results in a more networked, more strategic, more powerful LGBTQ movement.

As a former state leader, I can’t say enough about how integral the annual Leadership Conference was to my success. It was here I built relationships, strategized new ways to protect LGBTQ people, and received the support I needed to advance equality and justice in North Carolina. Now, our state and national partners often tell me this is their one can’t-miss conference each year.

Even when we couldn’t be together in person this year, we still gathered and connected to advance our movement virtually. We will continue to meet—whether virtually or in-person—for many, many years to come. Because we know we are a stronger movement when we work together.
