Beverly Owensby was elected as Member At Large at the National Federation of Republican Women (NFRW) 40th Biennial Post-Convention Board of Directors Meeting in Indianapolis and took office in January 2020. She is serving as NFRW Region 4 Director and advisor to the following committees: Achievement Awards, Caring for America, and Literacy. She was elected to the NFRW Nominating Committee in 2019 and 2013. She has served on the NFRW Board of Directors as State President of the SC Federation of Republican Women (SCFRW) and a member of the following NFRW committees: Membership--Newsletter Editor, National Armed Services, and Americanism. She has participated in NFRW Strike Force Weekends and is a NFRW Regent.
Beverly is the Executive Committee Advisor for SCFRW and Palmetto House Republican Women (PHRW). She is the current SCFRW Bylaws Chair and has served in many leadership positions in both organizations. She has worked extremely hard for many years to elect Republicans on the local, state, and national level by participating in GOTV Campaigns. This year, she participated in GOTV door knocking in Cedar Rapids (IA), Omaha (NE), Charlotte (NC), Charleston (SC), and Braselton (GA). She also participated in Phone Banking Campaigns across the US.
From 2019 to 2020, she served on the RNC Core Team for Women’s Suffrage Centennial. She has served as Chairman of the SCGOP 4th Congressional District and as a SCGOP Executive Committee member. She is serving on the Spartanburg County Executive Committee.
She has served her community in many leadership positions: Director East Piedmont District of the Garden Club of SC, President Spartanburg Garden Club Council, President of Woodland Heights Elementary PTA, President Dawkins Middle School PTSA, Dorman High School Parent Advisory Council and Chairman Public Relations of Dorman High School Booster Club. She is a Nationally Accredited Master Flower Show Judge
While working as the Spartanburg Herald Journal Newspaper In Education Coordinator, Beverly was awarded the Southern Newspaper Association Literacy Award and SC Department of Education Career Education Award. She was elected President of the SC Newspaper in Education Association. She served as the Celebrate Community Spelling Bee Director for three counties. She also served on the Upstate Workforce Development Executive Board and Spartanburg Reads Executive Board.
