Dear John,

I can't think of anything worse than being born on a hard concrete floor confined by bars, but this is how life begins for pigs like Poppy.

Factory farms are cold, cruel, and filthy. Piglets born at factory farms suffer for most of their lives.

At only a few weeks old, Poppy was ripped away from his mother and moved to a pen packed with piglets.

Piglets are playful, intelligent beings. But with no room to play, root, or do much else that comes naturally to them, pigs endure constant deprivation.

After six short months, a mere fraction of their natural life span, piglets like Poppy are sent to slaughter.

Poppy isn't alone in his suffering. Every piglet born at a factory farm awaits this cruel fate.

Mercy For Animals makes sure companies can't hide the suffering of pigs like Poppy and his mom. Our investigators are relentless in exposing the cruel reality of mother pigs confined in crates and baby pigs being born in them.

We also hold governments accountable.

When pigs arrived at a slaughterhouse too weak to stand, Mercy For Animals sued the USDA for failing to protect them.

We will never stop fighting for pigs like Poppy, but we need you.

Time is running out. Make sure to donate now for your donation to be matched up to one million dollars.

Don't wait, the deadline to donate is December 31 at midnight!

Farmed animals everywhere are counting on you. We can't let them down.

Sincerely,

Leah Garcés
