Dear John,
I’m so grateful that during this busy season, in an especially challenging year, you’re taking the time to read this note and stay connected to ICT and the Tibetan people.
I’m reaching out to remind you that the Flame of Hope Matching Gift Challenge ends tomorrow—so you have just one more day to make 2x the difference for Tibet.
As a dedicated member, every dollar you donate today will be matched by ICT Board Chair Richard Gere and friends, up to $250,000. That means that together, we can contribute half a million dollars to support ICT and the people of Tibet!

These funds will go so far and enable us to make such a difference for the Tibetan cause. You will:
- Power ICT’s critical advocacy to implement pro-Tibet legislation, like the recently passed Tibetan Policy and Support Act which says the decision on the selection of the next Dalai Lama is to be left to Tibetan Buddhists—not the Chinese Communist Party.
- Keep pressure on US leaders to fully enforce the Reciprocal Access to Tibet Act, and continue pursuing opportunities for the Chinese government to reciprocally open Tibet to visits by US citizens and international independent observers.
- Ensure the key State Department position of a Special Coordinator for Tibetan Issues is appropriately filled in the incoming administration, so that the US government can provide programmatic and policy support to Tibetans.
John, China’s government wants to hide what they’re doing in Tibet, shrouding their abuses in secrecy. But together, we can fuel a flame of hope for my Tibetan brothers and sisters and help ensure it continues to burn brighter than any darkness. Please make your final year-end gift today and it will be doubled in impact through our match.

Thank you for joining ICT and supporting the Tibetan cause. I wish you the best as we enter a new year—one that I hope will bring light for the world and the people of Tibet.
With gratitude,

Bhuchung K. Tsering
Vice President
P.S. There is just 1 day left to have your gift matched—will you make your most generous gift so it can be doubled by Richard Gere and friends right away?
