2020 was a year that no one could have imagined. Instead of a “Super Year,” the pandemic took hold, claiming hundreds of thousands of lives and sending shockwaves through economies. Moreover, the world faced multiple ongoing crises due to climate change, racial injustice, inequity, and more. As we look to 2021, the arrival of the COVID-19 vaccine brings hope, but challenges remain.

We invite you to join WRI for the 18th annual Stories to Watch presentation, featuring WRI’s President & CEO Andrew Steer. At this flagship event, we will look at the big moments, trends, places, and people that will shape the world in the coming year.

Will the world shift to a sustainable path as it recovers from the pandemic? How will President Biden influence global dynamics, and which other leaders will emerge? How will the relationship between the US and China play out? Will climate ambition grow in the lead-up to COP26? Will the world learn to better appreciate nature and redefine our relationship to cities? And what lessons will we learn from the pandemic?

Don’t miss Stories to Watch 2021—this year 100% online—as we look ahead at the big stories for the year ahead.
