Trump wants credit for being “FIVE YEARS AHEAD OF SCHEDULE” with the vaccine, whatever that means.

The problem is that, as a recent Forbes piece finds, “Ironically, immigrants played the crucial role in developing the vaccines, a group Trump as president has vilified. It’s fair to say if Trump administration immigration policies had been in place years earlier … the individuals instrumental in making the Covid-19 vaccines a reality would never have lived or worked in America.”

So we all agree this vaccine happened in spite of Trump, not because of him -- and we’re looking forward to making even more progress under the Biden-Harris administration (as well as dismantling Trump’s incredibly destructive and inhuman anti-immigrant legacy).

In fact, Trump has only HAMSTRUNG efforts to roll out a vaccine by spreading anti-science sentiment, pushing for unproven and dangerous “cures,” and refusing to act in the beginning of this crisis -- something The New York Times reports now has the administration “scrambling to make up for lost time.”

 

Fellow Democrat, we want to fight against the anti-science sentiment Trump has spread before it impairs herd immunity. We want Joe Biden to have all the resources he needs to fix the public health response Trump so disastrously bungled. And we want to reverse the harmful policies of this administration, currently scrambling to rewrite history while only worsening the state of the country by the day.
