Throughout my life and my time in government, friend, I have always been struck by how Canadians step up in a time of need.

For their friends, for their neighbours, and for people from coast to coast to coast, it is always truly inspiring to see people working together keep each other safe and supported. The response that we’ve seen to this year’s global crisis is no different. We’re facing it together and looking out for one another, and we’re going to keep doing that for as long as it takes – because that’s what we do as Canadians.

There is a lot of work ahead of us, and I know that a strong and healthy recovery will continue to require strong leadership.

We must continue to build on the progress that Justin Trudeau and this Liberal government are making for Canadians – by investing in Canadians and our most vulnerable, by protecting a clean environment for our children and grandchildren, and by working to create good new jobs in an economy where everyone can participate to their full potential.

As a party, I know that our MPs and volunteers have been working tirelessly to reach out to fellow Canadians and hear their ideas. After all, politics is about people and communities, and building a better future for the country we share.

There is still much more work ahead of us. But together, I know that we can thrive as Canadians in the years ahead with bold action on health, jobs, the environment, equality, and so much more.
