I am the proud mother of two LGBT children, and like all mothers, I have worried for their safety, futures, and happiness. I have proudly supported GLAAD, as a donor, and as a member of the Board of Directors, knowing that this organization is on the front lines of fighting injustice toward, and amplifying the voices of this precious community.

Friend, I am writing to you today to ask you to support GLAAD’s Reclaim Our Ground Campaign. All gifts made will be doubled by GLAAD’s Leadership Fund until Dec. 31st, and it has never been more important to stretch these dollars on behalf of equality. We are closing in on the deadline, so to stretch these dollars further, I am personally contributing $20,000 as an additional matching challenge. This means that your gift will go 3x as far toward Reclaiming Our Ground. I hope you will join me in giving what you can.

Like so many of us, I was appalled to watch the onslaught against LGBTQ rights during the Trump administration. It made me angry, and it made me afraid. I was so proud to stand with GLAAD as they resisted every attempt to erode the rights of my children, and this community. 

Friend, we are less than a month away from a very different political landscape. The opportunity to RECLAIM OUR GROUND, and push further toward 100% acceptance is within reach. 

But Friend, we cannot do it without your support. Please stand with me, and the entire GLAAD family, in making a gift toward this vital work. 

If you’re anything like me, this year has felt so very out of control. I know that standing with GLAAD is one concrete thing I can do to help shape this world, and I find strength and comfort in that. That is why I have been on the Board of Directors for so many years.
