John,

It's getting especially difficult for Syrian families at night. Many are facing brutally cold temperatures and the threat of violence. Being displaced during the war has gotten so bad that one mother named Hamida told us:

"The coronavirus is not dangerous compared to what we have experienced. Shelling, airstrikes and displacement are much more dangerous."

Those two sentences really put things in perspective for me.

Hamida and her husband and their four children live in Idlib, Syria after being displaced from Aleppo. I can't imagine what it's like for her. She's trying to navigate this invisible and lethal virus while simultaneously trying to protect her children from the increasingly cold winter and possible airstrikes.

John, we need to help vulnerable families like Hamida’s in Syria and around the world. Will you make an urgent donation and help us support displaced families worldwide today? Gifts made by midnight tonight will be tripled. [3X Match Deadline: Midnight] [link removed]

Your gift can help us provide winter supplies, warm shelter, medical care, mental health support and other critical services in Syria and worldwide.

Although Hamida is most concerned about violence in her country, she is also worried about COVID-19. In fact, she's part of the IRC's mask-making project, which hired women and men in northwest Syria to sew masks from home. She believes strongly in helping others stay safe from the coronavirus.

John, there are so many moments when displaced parents like Hamida could give up. But, she still continues to do everything she can for her family and community. She shows up for them every day believing things can get better.

Before 2020 ends, will you take a moment to help us help vulnerable families facing a cold winter, COVID-19 and displacement? For families in Syria and other crisis areas, your support — which is being tripled until MIDNIGHT — can change lives.

With urgency and humanity,
