joins CUbroadcast ahead of Senate NDAA override vote
Ahead of the
Senate's expected vote to override President Donald Trump's veto of
the fiscal year 2021 National Defense Authorization Act (NDAA) today, NAFCU's
Carrie Hunt joined CUbroadcast to discuss the credit union priorities included
in the bill, as well as the most recent coronavirus relief package. The House,
via a 322-87 vote, passed the measure to override the veto Monday.

The NCUA next month is
set to host a complimentary webinar about the prevalence of human trafficking
and detection methods from a credit union's perspective. The event is presented
in partnership with the U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement's Homeland
Security Investigations unit and with involvement from The Knoble.

CUNA Mutual launch CDFI awareness and certification campaign
Inclusiv
and CUNA Mutual Group announced the launch of a program geared toward educating
credit unions that are not certified community development financial institutions
(CDFIs) about the benefits of certification and how they can serve both members
and local small businesses. In addition, the program creates a network where existing
CDFI-designated credit unions can learn about and access additional resources on this topic.

Board announces 2021 meeting dates
The NCUA earlier this month announced
its schedule of open board meetings for 2021. Due to the ongoing pandemic, all
open board meetings will be held through a livestream on the agency's website for the foreseeable future.
