Earned Benefits in 2021!

Dear John,
|
As we head into the new year, millions of older Americans will continue to struggle, both physically and financially, from the ongoing coronavirus pandemic. And while Congress managed to pass an end-of-year coronavirus relief deal which will help seniors overall, the challenges facing Social Security and Medicare beneficiaries will persist in 2021.
In fact, powerful fiscal hawks in the incoming Congress are already plotting their next move on how to cut Social Security and Medicare. According to Senator John Thune (SD), “I think spending, entitlement reform, growth and the economy are all things that we’re going to have to be focused on next year, and, yeah, I would expect you’ll hear a lot more about that.” Of course when he says “entitlement reform” he means cutting the benefits workers and retirees have paid for and earned!
That’s why we must be prepared as soon as the new Congress convenes next week to fight against these looming threats to your earned benefits and ensure your voice is heard throughout the halls of Congress.
Will you please help the National Committee reach our critical end-of-year fundraising goal of $50,000 by making a generous gift of $18.00, $15.00 or $12.00 today? Your donation will help ensure we have the resources we need to defeat any proposal, amendment or budget plan that targets Social Security and Medicare!
Right now we are also gearing up to launch a massive campaign to press members of Congress and President-elect Biden to pass legislation that will help older Americans afford their prescription drugs, fix the Cost-of-Living Adjustment formula and boost their monthly Social Security benefit checks.
John, with so much at stake, I hope I can count you with us as we fight to protect and strengthen Social Security and Medicare in the year ahead!
As a reminder, the National Committee relies solely on the generosity of our million+ members and supporters — and every dollar makes a difference in this fight! So please make your year-end gift today to help the National Committee wage a winning fight on your behalf!
