When I first arrived as a rookie with the LA Kings in 1986, the first
public appearance I made was at Children's Hospital Los Angeles. It
was important to me to visit the patients who might need a boost in
morale and to show the CHLA staff that their work was appreciated by
all of those in the Kings community.

Thirty-four years later, as team president of the Kings, I'm proud to
look back at the partnership we have built with CHLA. Every single
Kings player has taken something positive away from our visits, and
every patient we've visited holds a special place in our hearts.

This year, more than ever, we need your help showing CHLA patients
that they are in ALL our hearts. Make a

Our players are fierce competitors on the ice, and we are just as
passionate off it about raising awareness for CHLA, whether by
supporting the hospital's Blood Donor Center or the Pediatric
Neurosurgery Research Lab, and helping the staff take clinical care
and new research to even greater heights.

Every hockey player knows what it's like to be under pressure. But
every nurse who is caring for a patient, every doctor who is prepping
for surgery, every researcher who is racing to find a new treatment or
new ways to keep us safe during this time-that's a whole other
level of pressure. And with the added stresses and challenges of
COVID-19, these essential workers need our support, just like the kids
who depend on them.

You don't have to be a professional hockey player to make a real
