'They're like piranhas': These goats have
a ravenous appetite for Christmas trees
There are goats scattered at properties throughout New England — and beyond — that would love to chow down on the spiky branches of your discarded Christmas tree.

You have to follow rules. Such as the trees can't have any tinsel or ornaments. Or brown needles, or have been sprayed.

But the goats will eat the needles and a lot of the bark. They love it, and drive right in.

“They just go nuts. Once they finish one tree we take that and compost it and we will give them another tree. It’s a special treat," said Christanie Channell of Channell Homestead in Hanson.
