Member Spotlight: Greg Moller
My support of People For the American Way traces all the way back to 1986 – almost to the beginning. I have never liked the Radical Right telling others what to do and I was looking for a way to push back against Jerry Falwell, Pat Robertson and the "Moral Majority" movement. I was inspired by Norman Lear's efforts to challenge their hateful and narrow-minded rhetoric.
I've always appreciated People For as the voice of reason against fanatics. Through Right-Wing Watch, they expose and defy the extreme activities of right-wing activists and organizations and provide information we all need to know.
When I reviewed my will and updated my beneficiary designations this year, I decided to name People For the American Way as a beneficiary of one of my retirement accounts.
It feels good to support a strong future with People For because, even long after I'm gone, there will always be extremists who want to remake our nation to mirror their narrow image. There will always be a need for People For's work to bring a voice of reason to the forefront. You can't always fix ignorance, but we can and must continue to oppose it.
