Dear John,
We don’t often agree with Planned Parenthood. But this summer they got something right when they decided to remove the name of their controversial founder, Margaret Sanger, from their Manhattan facility. Sanger’s dishonorable legacy includes her embrace of eugenics. Victims of eugenics have included those with disabilities, people of color, and those experiencing poverty.
In Planned Parenthood’s announcement, we heard an acknowledgment of their “contributions to historic reproductive harm within communities of color." Unfortunately, nowhere did they disclose that this legacy remains alive and well. Nearly 80 percent of Planned Parenthood’s surgical abortion businesses are located within walking distance of African American or Latino neighborhoods. Recently in New York, more Black children have been aborted than born. Planned Parenthood touts “choice” while offering vulnerable mothers only one terrible option: abortion.
It’s time for us to reject eugenics and to agree that there is no such thing as a life without value. That’s why at Americans United for Life, we stand for human life and oppose abortion, rationed healthcare, and suicide by physician. We unabashedly advocate for the life of every person of every age, gender, and race. Will you join us?
We have just two days remaining this year to meet our incredible $425,000 match opportunity. Would you consider a gift of $100, $50, or $25? Your gift would double to $200, $100, or $50!
