Only two of the eight legislators named to Virginia's new Redistricting Commission voted for all four key pieces of legislation that led to a bipartisan process for drawing legislative districts. Most favored giving voters the right to decide ([link removed]) whether to enshrine bipartisan redistricting in the state constitution. But Republicans and Democrats couldn't agree on the map criteria and rules that will guide the Commission's work.
