A CLOSER LOOKNational Immunization Programs

Few lower- and middle-income countries can fully finance and thus take full ownership of their national immunization programs. A theme of the Global Vaccine Action Plan, led by the World Health Organization, is increasing country ownership, defined as the point when a country fully finances its routine immunization program with domestic resources. Today we look back at an article from February 2016 by Michael McQuestion and coauthors analyzing routes that countries can take to achieve full ownership of their immunization programs.
