We’re sickened, John.
Mitch McConnell just blocked a Senate vote on $2,000 COVID relief checks.
Even now, in the midst of the worst public health and economic crisis our country has ever faced, Mitch McConnell refuses to do the right thing.
We won’t let Mitch undermine our democracy any further. We simply cannot afford to allow Republicans to continue holding majority control in the Senate. The stakes have never been higher to win the Georgia Senate runoff, John.
Let’s make this clear: when Mitch blocked this bill today it wasn’t a matter of whether our government can afford it. The Pentagon spends $2,000,000,000 a day. It’s a matter of political will.
These survival checks are the only way to provide immediate support to the working people who need it – not billionaires and corporations. Without substantially larger checks, working people are not going to feel relief in their daily lives. Mitch’s actions today will have a devastating impact on millions of families who are on the edge of losing their homes, struggling to afford groceries, and have been waiting for relief for months.
We are sick and tired of watching relief bill after relief bill die in the Senate because Mitch McConnell cares more about pleasing his corporate friends than prioritizing everyday people in our country.
